Notable Happenings in February

Love is in the Air!

We think Edmonton deserves some excitement instead of all this cold! Read on to see what we have in store for you this month…
Valentine’s Day is just a few short days away – (reminder – this coming Friday!!) and we have lots of wonderful cards and gift ideas. All things “heart” from Thomas Sabo are 40% off till February 14. Who wouldn’t love a little bling?
A little chocolate is a very important food group in most women’s food guide and we have some yummy, Canadian made, chocolate hearts for your sweetie. The best selection of cards in town? Where else?

Keep Warm – Think Spring

Who doesn’t love a party? A fun way to keep warm is to think spring and start planning for a spring party!  We have some lovely spring invitations, both fill-ins and ones that you can print yourself in stock  – AND – they are all marked half price! A little peek.

Winter Travel

Lug Kids! How cute is this? The new Lug  (lots more than just for kids) has just walked in the door and the kids stuff is adorable – Peekaboo Bag Tags, Hokey Pokey Backpack and the Choo Choo Lunch Tote. For adults, there is a delicious new color – cranberry.

We don’t blame you if you are planning a few weeks away from home. We’d love to get away from this cold too. Before you do, be sure to stockup on all of your traveling essentials! Lug passport holders and flatiron cases are just a few items that we never leave on a trip without.Bon voyage with a journal to document your winter getaway. With choices from Moleskine and Leuchtturm notebooks to Phasha leather bound journals, any of our stylish notebooks will be great for your thoughts, memories and stories along the way. And don’t forget a wonderful pen for all of that jotting!

Family Day Hours: We will be closed, Sunday, February 16 and Monday, February 17 to let our staff enjoy some family time.

{via K&B}

Suzanne {our lovely boss lady} is a big fan of Gloria’s over at Kate & Birdie, so when Gloria contacted her a few weeks ago to ask her some questions about their upcoming blog post featuring little ol’ Notables, we were ecstatic! Suzanne took a trip over to Winnipeg and visited their beautiful white walled studio in the historic Exchange District almost five years ago, and she’s been hooked ever since! Gloria’s vintage inspired hand-drawn illustrations can be seen in our store in carefully packaged greeting cards, as well as journals and single-sheet wrapping paper {I’ve purchased a few different sheets and framed them… they are too beautiful to witness someone tearing through!} Click here to read the kind words that the brains and talent behind Kate & Birdie had to say about us!

Today’s spotlight is on Night Owl Paper Goods, a “modern yet folksy” eco-friendly paper goods company out of Birmingham, Owlbama {so cute – it actually says Alabama like that on their website!} Alan Henderson and Jennifer Tatham {the Pa and Ma behind Night Owl} do more than your average greeting card. They print on wood with cutesy illustrated critters on their notebooks, bookmarks, and even custom wedding invitations. It certainly is a card no one will forget when given.

{Night Owl Bookmarks $5.50, I (heart) Stationery by Charlotte Rivers $27.95}

{Night Owl Greeting Cards $6.95, The Twinery Bakers Twine $16.95/spool or $0.20/yard}

{Large Lined Notebooks $20, Mini Unlined Notebooks $8.95}

Notably Yours,
