Wedding Wednesday: Notables on Pinterest
May 8th, 2013
I have been a big fan of Pinterest ever since it started up. I was a slow learner at first, but my personal account has built up and become inspiration for bathroom renovations all the way to my weekend outfit plans. I have expressed before that inspiration can be found in many places. I love that an object or photograph can lead to the very idea behind your ‘big day’. A great example of this is when Stacey of JoyFoley Weddings chatted on CTV Morning Live about her beautiful tablescapes, when she mentioned that the inspiration behind her brightly coloured table was the turquoise necklace she was wearing. I think Pinterest is a great tool for challenging yourself to do that more often. Let’s see how Notables does it….
Themes are huge for weddings and with this months biggest release, Gatsby, in theaters we are seeing it pop up everywhere for weddings. So why not make an entire board dedicated to “Gatsby Inspired Weddings”?
Or something as simple as a colour. We have entire boards named after colours that are filled with flowers, wedding party or lifestyle photography, wedding decor, and even non-wedding related photography that relates to that particular colour. This is where I like to believe the most creativity comes alive, because you start to see inspiration in places you never thought it would be.
One of my favourite boards is “Wedding Details”, because this is where the bits and pieces that have been so well thought out come together for all of the guests to enjoy and celebrate. There are some amazing weddings that live on the internet and pinning other brides’ weddings is probably the most popular form of inspiration.
Now for the most popular board that we have brides coming in and referencing… the invitation inspiration board. I think it is so wonderful that bride’s are becoming more involved with the creative process for their wedding invitations before they even come in for an appointment.
If you are planning to come in for an appointment, feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org and share your inspiration with us! And don’t forget to get pinning with our inspiring Pinterest boards, too.
